Soft. Absorbent. Washable. Reusable month after month.
Reusable Period Pads: Quick Start FAQs
1. How do EcoKinly Reusable Period Pads work?
Just like a disposable pad - except you wash and reuse them. Place the pad in your underwear with the soft fleece side facing your body, snap is closed underneath your underwear, the waterproof layer contains all moisture.
2. Are EcoKinly Period Pads waterproof?
Yes. Each pad has a waterproof recycled PUL layer designed to prevent leaks through to your underwear.
3. Which absorbency should I choose?
Choose based on your normal flow. Light Flow pads contain two layers of absorbent bamboo, while Heavy Flow pads contain three layers for additional protection. Many people find a combination useful across the different days of their period.
4. How often should I change a reusable period pad?
This depends on your individual flow, just as it does with disposable pads. Change your pad when it feels necessary or becomes saturated. You'll quickly learn what works for your body and your cycle. For most women, pads are changed every 4-6 hours.
5. How many reusable period pads do I need?
6- 9 pads with a variety of light flow and heavy flow would be enough to manage your cycle. Period pads can be washed and reused for several years.
6. How do I wash reusable period pads?
After use, wash with your normal laundry using your usual detergent, following the EcoKinly care instructions, and allow to dry fully before using again.
7. What do I do with a used pad when I'm away from home?
Fold the pad in on itself, snap it closed and store it in a small wet bag until you get home. No bin required.
8. Can I use reusable pads overnight?
Yes. Choose heavy flow pads for overnight use.
9. Do I have to switch completely to reusable period products?
Absolutely not. Reusable doesn't have to be all or nothing. Start with one pad, one day of your period or when you're at home. Every disposable pad you replace is one less single-use product.
Reusable Period Pads Made Simple
EcoKinly Reusable Period Pads are a simple alternative to disposable sanitary pads, designed to give you reliable protection without having to throw your pad away after every use.
Made with soft bamboo and cotton, a stay-dry layer and a waterproof recycled PUL backing, they're designed to feel comfortable and discreet while giving you the absorbency you need throughout your period.

How do reusable period pads work?
If you've always used disposable sanitary pads, switching to reusable period pads can sound like a much bigger change than it actually is.
The basic idea is exactly the same.
Instead of an adhesive strip, EcoKinly pads have wings that wrap around your underwear and snap securely underneath.
The soft stay-dry fleece sits next to your body, absorbent bamboo layers hold your flow, and a waterproof recycled PUL layer provides protection underneath.
The biggest difference?
When you're finished with it, you wash it instead of throwing it away.
Then it's ready for your next period.

What are EcoKinly Reusable Period Pads made from?
We believe you should know what the products you use against your skin are made from.
EcoKinly Reusable Period Pads use:
- GOTS / OEKO-TEX bamboo cotton
- Absorbent bamboo terry
- Stay-dry fleece
- Waterproof recycled PUL made from plastic bottles
The pads are designed without added chemicals and to be soft and comfortable against the skin.
Light or Heavy Flow: which reusable period pad do I need?
Periods change throughout your cycle, so your pad needs can change too.
Light Flow
Our Light Flow Reusable Period Pads contain two layers of naturally absorbent bamboo.
They're ideal for lighter-flow days or whenever you need lighter protection. They can also be used for irregular spotting out of cycle.
Heavy Flow
Our Heavy Flow Reusable Period Pads contain three layers of absorbent bamboo for additional protection.
They're designed for heavier-flow days and when you need greater absorbency.
Many people choose a mixture of Light and Heavy pads so they can adjust their protection throughout their period.
Will reusable period pads leak?
EcoKinly pads have been designed with both absorbency and leak protection in mind.
The bamboo layers absorb your flow, while the recycled PUL layer provides a waterproof barrier underneath.
As with any period product, choosing the appropriate absorbency and changing your pad according to your individual flow is important.
If you're experiencing leaks, first check:
- Is the pad saturated when you change it?
- Are you using the right absorbency for your flow?
- Is the pad sitting centrally in your underwear?
- Are the wings securely snapped underneath?
- Do you need to change more frequently on your heaviest days?
It can take a cycle or two to learn exactly what combination works best for you.
Are reusable period pads bulky?
This is one of the biggest questions people have before trying cloth period pads.
EcoKinly pads are designed to be snug and discreet, sitting securely in your underwear using the snap closure.
While reusable pads naturally feel slightly different from ultra-thin disposable products, they are generally similar to a sanitary pad.
For many people, after a couple of uses, reusable pads simply become part of their normal period routine.
How do I wash reusable period pads?
Washing reusable period pads is much simpler than many people expect.
After use:
- Throw your pads directly to the washing machine and wash as normal at 40 degrees.
- If your not ready to wash straight away and need to store for a day or 2 before washing, give the pad a cool rinse under the tap and then fold closed until wash day.
- Allow the pad to dry completely.
- Put it away ready for your next period.
Avoid using fabric softener, as this can coat absorbent fibres and reduce their ability to absorb effectively over time.
Once you've established a routine, reusable period pads simply become another washable item.
How do I use reusable period pads when I'm out?
You don't need to be at home to use reusable pads.
Bring your clean pads with you and use them exactly as you normally would.
When it's time to change, simply fold the used pad in on itself, fasten the snaps and place it into a small waterproof wet bag.
Take it home, wash it and reuse it.
No searching for a sanitary bin and no need to throw your pad away.

How many reusable period pads do I need?
There isn't one correct number.
It depends on your flow, how frequently you wash and whether you want to use reusable products throughout your entire period.
That's why starting small can work really well.
Try a 3-pack of EcoKinly Reusable Period Pads and use them alongside your existing period products.
You might start by using them at home.
Then try a full day.
Then build a reusable period routine that works for you.
You don't have to replace everything overnight.
Can reusable period pads save money?
Disposable period products have to be purchased again and again.
Reusable pads are different.
Once you've bought them, they can be washed and reused across your periods for years, reducing the number of disposable pads you need to continually purchase.
The more frequently you use them, the greater the potential saving over their lifetime.
And unlike a disposable pad, their usefulness doesn't end after a few hours.
Wash. Dry. Reuse. Repeat.
Are reusable period pads better for reducing waste?
Yes. A disposable pad is designed to be used once and then thrown away.
A reusable period pad is designed to be used for several years, significantly reducing single use waste.
That simple difference means one reusable pad can replace repeated purchases of single-use period products over its lifetime.
You don't have to completely change your period routine to make a difference either.
If you use reusable pads for only part of your period, you're still reducing the number of disposable products you use.
