EcoKinly is thrilled to announce that our founder, Kate Doyle, has been selected as a finalist for the Circular.ie Communications Connections Grant — a national award supporting impactful storytelling in Ireland’s circular economy.
This award will enable Kate to lead a new awareness campaign designed to help more families across Ireland feel confident choosing reusable nappies, washable wipes, and other sustainable baby essentials.
This milestone celebrates Kate’s ongoing work in making reusable nappies more accessible, affordable, and mainstream for Irish families.
As part of the project, Kate will lead the production of a brand-new video series and supporting download Guides around “My First Day with Reusables.”
What Kate Says
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to bring this project to life, its something I have been working on for a long time - partnering with Circular.ie has made this possible"
This hands-on approach gives parents what Google or Chat GPT can’t — authentic, relatable insight from someone who truly understands everyday reusables. Alongside the videos, Kate is creating a beautifully designed downloadable reusable nappy guide. This booklet will cover everything from washing routines to cost savings, making it a highly accessible resource for beginners.
Why This Project Matters
Disposable nappies are one of the biggest contributors to household waste in Ireland — with each child generating an estimated 5,000 single-use nappies before they’re potty trained.
By making part-time use of reusable nappies more accessible, families can:
- Cut landfill waste dramatically
- Reduce exposure to unnecessary chemicals
- Lower household costs
- Support Ireland’s transition to a circular economy
- Make a meaningful environmental impact
This project supports parents at every stage of their journey, empowering more Irish households to feel confident in choosing practical, sustainable alternatives.
Leading the Way in Sustainable Parenting
At EcoKinly, our mission is simple: Reusables for every stage of family life.
Kate’s leadership in this national campaign is a proud moment for our entire community. It reinforces EcoKinly’s role as one of Ireland’s trusted voices in eco parenting, cloth nappies, and sustainable baby products.
With the backing of Circular.ie, this project will bring high-quality, inclusive, and accessible education to parents across the country — helping make reusable nappies not only understandable, but achievable.
